Happer Times...

We cannot go home.

On May 1 and 2, 2010, historic rainfalls fell in Nashville. A total of 15-18 inches fell in just over 36 hours. The rains caused 500 year flooding throughout town. The rain waters caused the hill behind our house to collapse. Twice. Trees and rocks and mud came into our house and filled it with mud.

We cannot live in the home. An engineer told us the hill is unstable and can fall again anytime. It may cost up to $275,000 to fix the hill and house. Our insurance company won't help. Government and private agencies have only given small grants for the repairs. So we cannot live our house and cannot rebuild it. And the mortgage still comes every month.

We have three kids. Their bedrooms were hardest hit by the mud, and they lost their beds and clothes and stuffed animals. We have dedicated our lives to charity and community instead of the pursuit of riches. And now when we need money just to pay our house notes and fix the damage, we cannot come close.

But You Can Help!

Any small donations of whatever you have in your pocket will help. Even $1, $2, $5 or $10 will go a long long way to helping us go home. If enough people from across the wide internet come together, we can rebuild that hill and house, and our kids can go home. Please consider helping us with what little spare change you have. And pass the word!

Bless you for your time and interest.

All Proceeds To Benefit Flood Victims

We appreciate any help you can provide, either in dollars or referrals. Any donations received beyond what is needed to repair our hill and retaining wall will be forwarded to other storm victims or charities assisting them.
